Chris Porter

Chris has been a music industry professional in the USA for over 30 years.  After working in college radio at WJUL in Lowell, MA and becoming Music Director there, he went on to manage several Boston based rock acts and start his own record label called Presto Records in the late 1980’s. That soon led to opportunities to book various nightclubs in Boston throughout most of the 1990’s including Bunrattys, The Middle East Club, and Mama Kin Music Hall. 

In 1997 his career continued in Seattle as the music talent buyer for One Reel, the producers of the long running Bumbershoot Festival and other special events and concerts.  He was at One Reel for 18 years, the last 5 years as the company’s Programming Director.  In that position he oversaw all aspects of programming and booking for various events including Bumbershoot. 

Chris left One Reel/Bumbershoot in early 2015 and has since devoted time to his own company, Porter Productions.  For a number of years he has been on the Board of Governors for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy and recently added to the Board of Directors for Folk Alliance International.  Chris is also a DJ and sports fan event producer.
